Position

The Wellness Advisor is most often the first and last point of contact for current and prospective students. The best Wellness Advisors are friendly, outgoing and curious individuals who are dedicated to learning about the students that the studio serves. This curiosity allows them to make expert format, membership/package, and retail recommendations based on the student’s goals. Additionally, they ensure the studio is a clean and inviting space.

Duties
  • New Member Acquisition and Retention
    • Booking Appointments:
      Contact leads in a timely manner to establish relationships and get them booked in for a class experience, achieving a daily, weekly, and monthly quota.
    • Studio Tours

      Education:

      Be knowledgeable about products, programs and pricing; conduct studio tours with new prospects to build rapport to facilitate sales.
    • Membership Sales:
      Present the best membership or class package option based on the student’s goals; meet and exceed sales goals as established by the Studio Manager.
    • Retention:
      Ensure new members are onboarded properly; assist members with finding the correct type of classes to achieve their fitness goals.
    • Studio Operations & Promotion:
      Assist with maintaining a clean, safe and inviting environment; participate in grassroots/community events (health fairs, grand openings, marathons, and community and hospital events) to promote the studio.

  • Fluent in English with excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills in person, on the telephone and via email.
  • Ability to work harmoniously with co‑workers, clients and the general public.

  • Driven & eager to learn.
  • Goal‑oriented with an ability to achieve sales targets.
  • Ability to learn and use the studio software system.
  • Proficient computer skills.
  • Daily and/or occasional travel may be required.
  • Attend special events and trainings as needed.

  • Ability to excel in a fast‑changing, diverse environment, using sound judgment.
Physical Requirements
  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
  • May be required to sit or stand for up to four hours at a time; may be required to reach with hands and arms; must be able to bend, lift, kneel, and drive a car; may be asked to occasionally lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust and focus.
  • Must be able to effectively hear in person and via telephone.

Skills You Will Learn

Successful Wellness Advisors develop a broad and marketable skill set through their time in this role that are transferable throughout the boutique fitness space, as well as many industries outside of the fitness industry. They promote their sales skills, impact in marketing and the lead‑generation process, operations, and client care. This is an excellent position if your goal is to ultimately manage a boutique fitness space, or to develop these skills to be applied in other industries.
