Mako Industries is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Instrument Fitter / Tubing Technician to install, assemble, and maintain instrumentation systems and tubing on industrial sites. This role involves precise work with small bore tubing, fittings, valves, and instruments to ensure leak-free and efficient performance in line with project specifications and industry standards.

Responsibilities include:

  • Interpret P&IDs, isometric drawings, and tubing layouts to perform installations.
  • Install, bend, and route small bore tubing (typically 1/4" to 1") using hand or power tools.
  • Assemble and install instrumentation equipment, including transmitters, gauges, and analyzers.
  • Use proper techniques for Swagelok, Parker, or other compression fittings to ensure leak-free connections.
  • Conduct hydrostatic or pneumatic pressure testing on tubing systems.
  • Work closely with Instrument Technicians, Electricians, and Engineers to ensure seamless system integration.
  • Ensure all work complies with HSE (Health, Safety & Environmental) policies and quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of installations, modifications, and maintenance activities.
  • Report any defects, unsafe conditions, or non-conformities promptly.

Qualifications include:

  • Proven experience as an Instrument Fitter / Tubing Technician in industrial, process, or offshore environments.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings, including P&IDs, loop diagrams, and tubing isometrics.
  • Skilled in manual and hydraulic tube bending, cutting, deburring, and flaring.
  • Knowledge of instrument fittings, valves, and supports, including Swagelok, Parker, or equivalent systems.
  • Understanding of process instrumentation and control systems.
  • Familiarity with HSE (Health, Safety & Environmental) standards and industry best practices.
  • Valid passport required – this is an offshore position and may involve international travel or deployment.
  • Offshore certifications/credentials are a plus (such as BOSIET/FOET, HUET, offshore medical, or other client/site-specific requirements). Candidates who do not currently hold all required offshore credentials may be considered, as Mako Industries may assist with obtaining the necessary certifications for qualified candidates.
  • Physically fit and able to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in challenging offshore environments when required.
  • Willing and able to work offshore on a rotational or project-based schedule.
