Position Overview
Hourly Rate: $23.00
Responsibilities- Safely pick up and deliver inventory from warehouse to warehouse utilizing the company's yard mule, trailers, and other heavy equipment.
- Conduct pre‑ and post‑trip inspections and use a handheld scanner.
- Communicate with Warehouse leads and management using handheld radios.
- Use a forklift if the demands of the business require it.
- Sign, date, and maintain the required Driver Activity Log.
- Maintain quality in the warehouse, track all damaged inventory, and report issues to the Supervisor as noted in the Activity Log.
- Report immediately to management any issues with the Mule Tractor or trailers.
- Follow material flow requirements for the plant.
- Carry out all orders from the Supervisors efficiently.
- Perform miscellaneous job‑related duties as assigned.
- Chock trailers and use trailer jacks.
- Clean out trailers and the Mule tractor.
- Clean around loading docks inside and out.
- Comply with all company policies.
- Move tandems on the trailers as needed.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Previous yard mule experience in a fast‑paced environment with at least 5 years of driving experience.
- Driver’s license and CDL required with a good driving record.
- Working knowledge of hazards and safety precautions common to heavy equipment operations.
- Strong teamwork skills.
- Ability to lift 25 lbs and occasionally up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to read numbers and labels, understand verbal and written instructions, and effectively communicate in writing and verbally to observe safety precautions.
- Ability to touch, handle, feel, and reach with hands and arms.
- Ability to work irregular or extended hours, including weekends and nights as needed.
- Ability to step on and off the Mule Tractor repeatedly for every move.
- Ability to attach and detach trailers at assigned docks repeatedly.
- Flexibility and willingness to work to the demands of the department, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
The associate will be required to move frequently, stand, walk, and sit. Noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud.
