PACS Administrator
Position Overview
The PACS Administrator will provide on‑site technical expertise and operational support for the Radiology and Cardiology Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) at the 60th Medical Group (60 MDG). This role also supports the 60 MDG Telehealth Program and additional virtually supported medical sites. The PACS Administrator ensures reliable system performance, efficient workflow integration, and continuous availability of imaging and telehealth systems essential to clinical operations.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver on‑site technical support for Radiology/Cardiology PACS and associated imaging applications.
- Support the Telehealth Program and related virtual clinical services.
- Provide project management assistance for PACS‑related initiatives across supported sites.
- Perform network management tasks related to PACS operations and data flow.
- Conduct system administration duties, including configuration management, troubleshooting, performance monitoring, and upgrades.
- Provide user interface and end‑user support for PACS services across clinical departments, including:
- Radiology
- Cardiology
- Interventional Radiology
- Teleradiology
- Telepathology
- Other telehealth modalities
- Support processes and workflows related to imaging, telehealth, and enterprise medical information systems.
- Collaborate with clinical, IT, and management teams to ensure secure, efficient, and compliant operation of PACS infrastructure.
- 4+ years of combined experience with U.S. Air Force Medical Information Systems and/or DHA Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS).
- Familiarity with Medical Community of Interest (Med‑COI) / DHA networks
. - Demonstrated experience in system administration, network support, and clinical systems integration.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently in a clinical support environment.
- Current Security + certification
- Experience coordinating with radiology and cardiology staff.
- Knowledge of DICOM standards, HL7 interfaces, and imaging workflow best practices.
- Ability to provide user training and develop technical documentation.
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with clinical and technical stakeholders.
