Duties
- Interprets accounting principles (including U.S. GAAP and IFRS).
- Collect survey data and research multinational companies to validate reported data.

- A probationary period may be required. If non-competitively converted, the time spent as a Recent Graduate will count towards the probationary period.
- This position may be eligible for telework; additional criteria will be required (e.g., supervisory approval).
- Basic entry:
Recent College Graduates from qualifying institutions within two years of degree or certification. Veterans precluded by military service obligation have up to six years to apply. - Students with a transcript with a degree confer date on or before June 30, 2026, will be considered for the Recent Graduate Program. Graduation/expected graduation date must be indicated on your resume.
- Minimum Education:
Degree in accounting, or related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration with 24 semester hours in accounting. Up to 6 hours of business law may be included. - Combination of education and experience: at least 4 years of experience in accounting, or equivalent combination of accounting experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional accounting knowledge. Must also have one of the following:
- Twenty‑four semester hours in accounting or auditing courses (up to 6 hours in business law).
- A certificate as Certified Public Accountant or Certified Internal Auditor.
- Completion of a degree that included substantial coursework in accounting or auditing (e.g., 15 semester hours) plus demonstrated professional experience and evaluation by a panel of at least two higher‑level professional accountants or auditors.
- Specialized experience for Band 2 (GS‑07): one year of experience at a level equivalent to Band 1 (GS‑05) in the Federal service, with responsibilities including evaluating and interpreting accounting and economic information, identifying data discrepancies, collecting and analyzing survey data, and communicating with respondent companies.
- Alternatively, 1 year of graduate‑level education or superior academic achievement.
