Network Engineer Level 2

The Opportunity

CACI is seeking a skilled and experienced Network Engineer (Level
2) to join our dynamic team to support a DoD client in Suitland, MD. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering and design, with a focus on Department of Defense (DoD) communication systems and networks. This role requires expertise in configuring and maintaining Cisco networks, troubleshooting complex issues, ensuring network security, and optimizing network performance.

• Design, configure, and maintain Cisco routers and switches within DoD communication systems.
• Implement and manage network security protocols to protect sensitive information.
• Monitor network performance and make recommendations for optimization.
• Diagnose and resolve network issues promptly to minimize downtime.
• Conduct root cause analysis for network failures and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure network configurations comply with DoD security standards and regulations.
• Perform regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.
• Collaborate with security teams to implement and maintain network security measures.
• Analyze network traffic and performance metrics to identify bottlenecks and areas for improvement.
• Implement strategies to enhance network efficiency and reliability.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of network configurations, procedures, and changes.
• Prepare reports on network performance, security incidents, and improvement initiatives.

• BS or BA degree in Engineering, an Engineering Discipline, or in a Technical Discipline preferred.
• At least four (4) years of practical engineering and design experience in DoD communication systems and networks.
• Proven experience in configuring and maintaining Cisco networks, including routers and switches.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with a track record of resolving complex network issues.
• Experience in ensuring network security and optimizing network performance.
• Certifications:
  
  CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) and Security+ CE (CompTIA Security+ with Continuing Education).
• Active TS/SCI clearance is mandatory.
