Overview
Spatial Front, Inc. (SFI), a two-time USA Today Top Workplaces awardee and Washington Top Workplaces honoree, is seeking a Configuration Management Specialist (CI/CD Pipeline Automation) to support our growing team. This position establishes, maintains, and optimizes configuration management processes, software version control practices, build/release management, and CI/CD pipeline automation across the software development lifecycle (SDLC). Operating within a Dev Ops framework, this role bridges development, QA, cybersecurity, and operations teams to guarantee that all software artifacts, environments, and infrastructure configurations remain secure, traceable, compliant, and deployable.

Hybrid (mostly remote, with occasional need to be on-site).
Key Responsibilities- Configuration Management & Version Control:
Develop and enforce configuration management plans, policies, and software baselines; oversee software versioning, branching, merging, and tagging strategies while conducting regular status accounting and configuration audits. - CI/CD Pipeline Automation:
Design, implement, and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines; embed automated quality gates and security scanning into workflows to maximize deployment reliability and release velocity. - Release & Build Management:
Coordinate software builds and deployments across multiple environments, manage artifact repositories, maintain comprehensive release documentation, and support disaster recovery/rollback procedures. - Infrastructure Automation:
Automate environment provisioning and maintain infrastructure configuration consistency across development, testing, staging, and production environments in collaboration with cloud infrastructure teams. - Governance, Compliance, &
Collaboration:
Support SDLC governance and security requirements; provide technical guidance, documentation, and training to cross-functional team members on configuration management and Dev Ops best practices.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 7+ years in configuration management, Dev Ops, release engineering, or software engineering within enterprise environments.
- Proficient with Git-based version control systems alongside direct experience utilizing CI/CD platforms like Git Lab CI/CD and Jenkins.
- Practical knowledge of IaC tools (Terraform, Ansible, Cloud Formation) and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Competency in scripting languages (Python, Power Shell, Bash) paired with a foundational familiarity with AWS cloud platforms.
- Core comprehension of the SDLC, Agile, Dev Sec Ops , change management, and automated test/security compliance frameworks.
- Prior experience supporting government, defense, healthcare, or financial services industries.
- Expertise implementing secure software development practices and automated compliance controls for enterprise-scale cloud deployments.
- One or more of the following certifications: AWS Certified Dev Ops Engineer, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), Git Hub Actions Certification, SAFe Dev Ops Practitioner / Certified Scrum Master (CSM).
- Clearance:
Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active Secret security clearance or the ability to obtain one. - Work Environment:
Onsite/Hybrid as required by the contract and program environment. - This is a full-time, W2 position.
