The Senior Oracle Exadata Database Administrator must be able to meet the key criteria below:
- Location:
Hybrid-Remote. Must be onsite as needed for program in support in Suitland, MD. Once per week is anticipated onsite requirement. - Years'
Experience:
7+ years professional experience - Education:
Bachelor's degree in IT related field. - Security Clearance: I is a federal contractor. Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance issued by the U.S. Census Bureau. This agency handles and adjudicates the security clearance process.
- NOTE:
United States Citizenship is required as part of the eligibility criteria to be able to obtain this type of security clearance.

Position Overview I is seeking a Senior Oracle Exadata Database Administrator with 7+ years of demonstrated on-premises Oracle Exadata engineering experience and strong hands-on expertise managing PostgreSQL and Oracle RDS instances in AWS, including Gov Cloud environments. This role supports high-availability enterprise database platforms, modern cloud architectures, and mission-critical production workloads. The ideal candidate brings deep Oracle Exadata operational knowledge—spanning RAC, ASM, multitenant, RMAN, patching, optimization, and troubleshooting—combined with proven cloud-native skills administering AWS RDS PostgreSQL and Oracle workloads, automating deployments, and ensuring secure, compliant operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer, optimize, and maintain Oracle Exadata on-premises environments including multitenant RAC, ASM, storage cells, compute nodes, patching cycles, partitioning, backup/recovery, transportable table spaces, and Data Guard/standby deployments.
- Perform lifecycle activities for Oracle environments including provisioning, cloning, upgrades (19c → 26ai), patch set updates, system tuning, incident troubleshooting, and capacity planning.
- Manage and support AWS RDS PostgreSQL and Oracle RDS production workloads, including parameter tuning, backup strategies, snapshot management, Cloud Watch monitoring, and performance diagnostics.
- Design and implement PostgreSQL PL/pgSQL functions, queries, and performance-tuned procedures for large enterprise datasets.
- Automate deployments and configuration using AWS services (Cloud Formation/Terraform, Cloud Watch, Lambda, S3) and infrastructure-as-code best practices.
- Ensure security compliance across on-prem and cloud environments, including RMAN encryption, Oracle Wallet/TDE, parameter hardening, AWS IAM/role policies, and alignment with NIST 800-53 and FedRAMP requirements.
