CACI is seeking a skilled and experienced Network Engineer (Level
2) to join our dynamic team to support a DoD client in Suitland, MD. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering and design, with a focus on Department of Defense (DoD) communication systems and networks. This role requires evening and weekday availability for watch floor responsibilities.
- Network Configuration and Maintenance:
- Configure and maintain Cisco networks, including routers and switches.
- Perform routine maintenance and updates to ensure network stability and performance.
- Troubleshooting:
- Diagnose and resolve network issues promptly to minimize downtime.
- Implement solutions to prevent recurring problems.
- Network Security:
- Ensure the security of the network by implementing best practices and protocols.
- Monitor network traffic for unusual activities and potential security threats.
- Performance Optimization:
- Optimize network performance through continuous monitoring and adjustments.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and implement improvements as needed.
- Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with other IT teams and stakeholders to ensure seamless network operations.
- Provide technical support and guidance to junior team members.
- BS or BA degree in Engineering, an Engineering Discipline, or in a Technical Discipline is desired.
- At least four (4) years of practical engineering and design experience in DoD communication systems and networks.
- Proven experience in configuring and maintaining Cisco networks.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex network issues.
- In-depth knowledge of network security principles and practices.
- Experience in optimizing network performance.
- CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate)
- Security+ CE (CompTIA Security+ with Continuing Education)
- Active TS/SCI clearance is required.
