Job DescriptionSUMMARY: To provide clerical/technical support to the Superintendent in the preparation of the District’s accounting procedures.
Salary:
Commiserate on experience. See salary schedule on district website for more information.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Other duties may be assigned.
- Process payroll data for all school district employees and maintain accurate, up-to-date files of all payroll information.
- Track new hire and termination information in the human resource information system and enter into school accounting software
- Report new hires to the Missouri Department of Labor
- Monitor and report deferred comp payments (403b, 457, Roth)
- Monitor time clock punches and absences for all hourly employees
- Maintain and enter absences and vacations for all employees into the payroll system
- Collect and monitor substitute hours to stay in line with government regulations for insurance eligibility
- Submit monthly retirement reports to Public Retirement System (PSRS/PEERS)
- Records new or changed pay rates in payroll software in compliance with the approved budget
- Compute pay according to district policy.
- Interprets company policies and government regulations affecting payroll procedures.
- Prepare, verify and distribute checks.
- Balance payroll and withholding accounts
- Maintains employee insurance records.
- Balance and submit monthly insurance billings.
- Works closely with our insurance consortium on open enrollments and changes that affect our employees and retirees and keep them informed of changes.
- Prepare required monthly, quarterly, and annual governmental reports such as 941’s, unemployment reports, W-2s, 1095s, etc.
- Prepare and submit electronic deposits to the bank
- Prepare and process garnishments
- Assist new employees with the completion of payroll forms and access to payroll software (Software Unlimited, I-Solved, and Smartfind).
- Track FMLA days in software.
- Maintain and enter new orders for the Community Foundation Of Ozarks
- Complete Verification Of Employment requests
- Answer phones, buzz in the front door, and assist visitors
- Perform general office duties for Central Office:
- Sort inter-campus mail
- Process incoming and outgoing mail
- Stamp, sort, and deliver to the post office all district regular out-going mail under 3 lbs.

EDUCATION AND/OR
EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or equivalent, including courses in bookkeeping
- At least one year of related experience and/or training
COMMUNICATION
SKILLS:
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, etc.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from administrators, students, staff, and the general public consistent with the duties of this position.
MATHEMATICAL
SKILLS:
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY:
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists consistent with the duties of this position.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form consistent with the duties of this position.
TECHNOLOGY:
- Competent with computer skills, including web browsing, email, word processing, and the Google platform.
