SUMMARY: To create a flexible instructional program and a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth; to establish effective rapport with students; to motivate pupils to develop attitudes and knowledge necessary for effective learning each child, every day.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Teach District approved curriculum.
- Prepare for classroom instruction.
- Guide the learning process toward curriculum goals and establish clear objectives for lessons, units, projects, and the like and communicate objectives to students.
- Implement various effective teaching techniques.
- Demonstrate competent knowledge of subject matter.
- Use diverse materials.
- Use instructional time effectively.
- Motivate students to learn.
- Communicate effectively with students.
- Provide evaluative feedback.
- Organize classroom to promote learning.
- Encourage students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
- Manage student behavior constructively.
- Demonstrate positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and patrons.
- Participate in professional development activities.
- Show enthusiasm for the teaching profession.
- Follow district policies and procedures.
- Be available to students and parents for education–related purposes outside instructional day.
- Maintain regular attendance.
- Prepare materials for substitutes.
- Maintain confidentiality and integrity.
- Supervise classroom, students, volunteers, paraprofessionals, or student interns as assigned.

- Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in the area of major study. - Certificates/License:
Valid Missouri Teaching Certificate. - Communication

Read, analyze, interpret business periodicals, journals, technical procedures, regulations; write reports, correspondence, procedure manuals; present information and respond to questions. - Language
Skills:
Read, analyze, interpret educational assessments. - Mathematical
Skills:
Calculate figures, apply knowledge to scoring and interpretation of assessments; apply fractions, percentages, ratios, proportions. - Reasoning Ability:
Collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions; interpret large amounts of information. - Technology:
Competent with computers, web browsing, e‑mail, word processing, Google platform, student information system; learn new software as systems upgrade; use smart boards, projectors, copy machines, faxes, and other district–provided technology. - Other

Apply research and theory to instructional programs; plan and implement model lessons and teacher professional development based on district and school objectives and student needs; knowledge of subject matter content; knowledge of standards‑based curriculum models; knowledge of child/adolescent development; patience, respect, and understanding of students and parents; professional responsibility; clear communication; compliance with district requirements and Board policies.
