ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Other duties may be assigned.

Instructional Skills
  • Teaches District approved curriculum.
  • Provides counseling services to individuals, small groups, and large classroom groups.
  • Consult with teachers, staff, and parents regarding meeting the developmental needs of students.
  • Provides agency referral information.
  • Consults with parents regarding the developmental needs of students.
  • Responds to crisis situations when appropriate.
  • Lead the student 504 processes.
  • Assists and proctors ACT, ASVAB, Work Keys, EOC, MAP, etc., where applicable.
  • Create and update ICAP where applicable.
  • Transition implementation pre and post-secondary where applicable.
  • Participate in, coordinate or conduct activities that contribute to the effective operation of the school.
  • Assists in the development of the master schedule for the building where applicable.
Professional Responsibilities
  • Participates in professional development activities.
  • Demonstrates enthusiasm toward the teaching profession.
  • Follows the policies and procedures of the school district.
  • Annually analyzes the counseling program in a report to the Board.
  • Is available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day.
  • Maintains regular attendance.
  • Maintains confidentiality, and unquestionable integrity.
