Infinity Miles is seeking a Senior Power Electronics Engineer to lead the design and development of advanced medium-voltage power conversion systems for commercial deployment. We are developing next-generation medium-voltage Solid-State Transformer (SST) technology for AI data centers, renewable energy systems, battery energy storage, EV charging infrastructure, and grid modernization.
Position OverviewThe Senior/Principal Power Electronics Engineer will be responsible for the architecture, design, analysis, testing, and validation of high-power converter systems. This role will drive the development of next-generation power conversion hardware from concept through commercialization.
Preferred Qualifications- M.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or related field
- 5+ years of industry experience in power electronics design and development
- Strong understanding of high-power converter topologies and control principles
- Experience with SiC-based power conversion systems
- Experience designing converters in the tens of kilowatts to multi-megawatt range
- Familiarity with medium-voltage systems and insulation requirements
- Knowledge of thermal management, EMI/EMC, electrical safety, and reliability considerations
- Hands-on experience with laboratory testing, debugging, and prototype validation
- Familiarity with UL, IEC, IEEE, and grid-interconnection standards
- Design and develop high-power isolated and non-isolated converter systems
- Develop advanced converter topologies including Cascaded H-Bridge, Multi-Level Converters, Dual Active Bridge (DAB), Resonant Converters, and related architectures
- Design power stages utilizing SiC devices and advanced gate drive technologies
- Perform system-level trade studies balancing efficiency, power density, thermal performance, reliability, manufacturability, and cost
- Develop converter protection strategies including fault detection, isolation, and system safety functions
- Perform simulation and analysis using PLECS, LTspice, MATLAB/Simulink, PSIM, or equivalent tools
- Lead laboratory testing, troubleshooting, and performance validation of prototype systems
- Collaborate with controls, magnetics, mechanical, manufacturing, and test engineering teams
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership within the organization
