Overview

Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital is a designated critical access hospital committed to providing quality health care service to residents in Crawford, Franklin and Washington counties. The hospital offers state‑of‑the‑art emergency services, a modern childbirth center, critical care unit, surgical suite, cardiac rehab, a cancer center, a 22,500 square‑foot medical office building, and rural health clinics. The Medical/Surgical Department is a 34‑bed general medical, surgical, and telemetry unit providing comprehensive biopsychosocial nursing to patients of all ages.

Provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within the guidelines of the standards of nursing care.

• Promotes patient and family‑centered care in a healing environment and educates patients and families on illness/injury management, post‑treatment home care, and medication administration.
• Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance; engages in professional development.
• Develops, implements, and documents individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with the interprofessional team, patient, family, or caregiver following established guidelines and standards.
• Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, assessing patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care.
• Maintains constant alertness and safe work practices as a safety‑sensitive position.

• Education: Nursing Diploma, Associate’s Degree in Nursing.
• Experience: No prior experience required.
