Geriatric Psychiatric Nurse Night Shift

Role Overview

Provides direct patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation, within nursing standards.

• Promotes patient and family-centered care, educating on illness management, post-treatment care, and medication administration.
• Participates in activities that ensure patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance, while engaging in professional development.
• Develops, implements, and documents individualized care plans with collaboration from the interprofessional team, patients, and families.
• Utilizes critical nursing skills to assess physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs, considering patient values, cultural, spiritual, and population-specific factors.
• Works in a safety-sensitive role requiring constant alertness and safe practices.

• Education:
  
  Nursing diploma or associate's degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred.

  Must hold an RN license.
• Experience:
  
  No prior experience necessary; less than 2 years preferred for bachelor’s degree holders.
