We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Engineer to join our New Product Development team. This entry-level role will support the design, testing, validation, and integration of energy storage system (ESS) products, including hybrid inverters, bidirectional inverters, DC/DC converters, MPPT charge controllers, and lithium-ion battery systems for residential and commercial & industrial (C&I) applications.
Key Responsibilities- Build, configure, and maintain test setups for evaluating hybrid inverters, bidirectional inverters, DC/DC converters, MPPT charge controllers, Li-ion battery systems.
- Support testing and validation activities for low-voltage residential and high-voltage C&I ESS applications.
- Work with industry-standard communication protocols, including Modbus RTU, Modbus TCP, and CANbus.
- Operate and troubleshoot laboratory equipment such as multimeter, oscilloscope, data logger, power analyzer, DC power simulator, AC grid simulator.
- Assist with compliance and certification efforts related to UL 9540, UL 1741 SA/SB, UL 1973, UL 9540A.
- Maintain power lab Single Line Diagram (SLD) and support development of SLDs for new and existing ESS products.
- Collaborate with PLM, PM, compliance, and manufacturing teams to support product development activities.
- Perform electrical load analysis and power budget calculations.
- Support power electronics design activities, including schematic review, BOM maintenance for BMS, EMS, and Wi-Fi dongle designs, board-level and system-level debugging, root cause analysis.
- Define and execute verification and validation (V&V) testing, including bench testing, integration testing, and system-level testing.
- Develop, document, and execute system test procedures to identify design issues and recommend improvements or modifications.
- Document test results, engineering findings, and troubleshooting activities clearly and accurately.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross‑function team environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field required.
- Basic understanding of power electronics, energy storage systems, or renewable energy systems.
- Familiarity with electrical schematics, test equipment, and laboratory safety practices.
- Exposure to communication protocols such as CANbus and Modbus is preferred.
- Knowledge of UL standards and ESS compliance requirements is a plus.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills.
- Internship, academic project, or laboratory experience related to power electronics, battery systems, inverters, embedded systems, renewable energy systems.
- Familiarity with BMS (Battery Management Systems) and EMS (Energy Management Systems) concepts.
- This position may require the ability to perform tasks that involve sitting, standing, walking, lifting 25+ lbs, computer work, and other physical activities. Candidates should be able to meet these physical demands with or without reasonable accommodation.
