Clinical Quality Coordinator

Description

General Function:
Assisting the Clinical Laboratory Director and the Assistant Laboratory Director in daily operations, management and oversight of the clinical laboratory. Implements the hospital’s mission, goals, and objectives by establishing and directing the short and long term vision, values and goals of the department by assisting the Clinical Laboratory Director and the Assistant Laboratory Director in their duties and specifically implementing, managing and reviewing the department’s quality improvement and assurance plan, staff education, proficiency testing, and collection of performance improvement data.

Participates in department inspections as needed and performs all duties of the Clinical Laboratory Scientist.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science
• National Laboratory Certification- ASCP or equivalent
• Licensed by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners

• Two (2) years of work experience as a Medical Technologist in a high complexity clinical laboratory.
• One (1) year of clinical training in an approved program for Clinical laboratory science.
• Experience in managing and coordinating large, multi-task projects.
• Maintain organized structure through effective leadership

• CPR Certification within 4 weeks of start date.
• Form perception required to notice pertinent details of specimens under Microscope.
• Will need to pass Ishiara’s color blind test.
