Join Hotard Shuttle as our next Director of Operations – Sulphur, LA. We’re looking for a dynamic and strategic leader to take the reins as Director of Operations, overseeing the day-to-day performance of our shuttle operations while championing safety, service excellence, and innovation. - Operational Leadership & Team Development – Provide strategic direction and daily oversight to managers, supervisors, drivers, and support staff.
- Lead recruitment, onboarding, and development of frontline leaders and team members.
- Drive a culture of accountability, coaching, and continuous improvement.
- Align team efforts with company goals, ensuring consistent execution of policies and procedures.
- Service Delivery & Customer Satisfaction – Ensure schedule adherence, fleet readiness, and operational efficiency across all locations.
- Implement improvements that enhance service reliability and customer experience.
- Monitor service KPIs and customer feedback to make data-driven decisions.
- Cross-Department Coordination – Ensure integration and alignment across departments—Operations, Safety, Maintenance, and HR.
- Lead efforts to onboard new contracts and scale services without compromising standards.
- Conduct vehicle and facility inspections to maintain brand image and service quality.
- Financial Performance & Operational Metrics – Collaborate on budget planning, forecasting, and performance tracking.
- Monitor operating costs, identify variances, and implement corrective actions.
- Analyze KPIs to uncover trends, performance gaps, and cost-saving opportunities.
- Safety, Compliance & Risk Mitigation – Uphold compliance with DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and internal safety policies.
- Participate in audits, safety investigations, and accident reviews.
- Partner with Safety and Maintenance leaders to build a proactive safety culture.
- Culture & Representation – Foster a positive, inclusive, and values-driven workplace.
- Represent Hotard Shuttle in external meetings, community engagements, and partner events.
- Champion professionalism, service excellence, and integrity in all interactions.
As an exempt role, flexibility is essential. This position may require work during early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet the needs of the business.
What You Bring to the TableWe’re looking for a results-driven leader who can combine day-to-day execution with big-picture thinking. The ideal candidate will bring:
Required Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Transportation, Logistics, or a related field — or equivalent professional experience
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing teams of 10 or more in an operations or transportation environment
- Hands-on experience with DOT compliance, safety procedures, and operational training
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic spreadsheet functionality
- Must pass a DOT drug test and background check
- No felony convictions or disqualifying offenses under FMCSA regulations
- No misdemeanor convictions involving moral turpitude
- Class B Commercial Driver’s License with passenger and air brake endorsements
- Working knowledge of FMCSA regulations and federal/state transportation laws
