Dual Carded Radiographer
We are seeking experienced Dual Carded Radiographers to join our team in the Lake Charles region. The successful candidate will perform a variety of non-destructive testing (NDT) inspections, including Digital Profile Radiography (DPR), Conventional Profile Radiography (CPR), and Real-Time Radiography (RTR) within refinery and industrial environments. Previous refinery experience is required. Rope access certification is considered a strong asset. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work independently while supporting client and project requirements.
Key ResponsibilitiesRadiographic Testing (RT)
- Perform radiographic inspections in accordance with applicable codes, standards, specifications, and written procedures.
- Set up, operate, and maintain radiographic equipment, including X-ray and gamma-ray systems.
- Conduct Digital Profile Radiography (DPR), Conventional Profile Radiography (CPR), and Real-Time Radiography (RTR) inspections.
- Evaluate and interpret radiographic images to identify and document discontinuities, corrosion, erosion, and other defects.
- Ensure compliance with all radiation safety requirements and company safety programs.
- Maintain current radiation safety certifications and required regulatory documentation.
Secondary NDT Method (UT, MT, PT, or Other Certified Method)
- Perform inspections utilizing certified secondary NDT methods.
- Interpret inspection results and accurately document findings.
- Follow applicable procedures, industry standards, and customer requirements.
- Ensure all inspections are completed safely and efficiently.
General Duties
- Prepare inspection areas, equipment, and materials for testing activities.
- Maintain accurate inspection reports, records, and calibration documentation.
- Communicate inspection results and project updates to supervisors, clients, and project teams.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and assist in developing effective solutions.
- Support outage, turnaround, and maintenance projects as required.
- Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining a high level of quality and professionalism.
- Adhere to all company, client, and regulatory safety policies and procedures.
Required
- Dual certification in Radiographic Testing (RT) and a secondary NDT method (UT, MT, PT, or equivalent).
- Previous experience working in a refinery, petrochemical, or industrial environment.
- Current radiation safety training and applicable state certifications.
- Strong understanding of NDT procedures, codes, and industry standards.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, procedures, and specifications.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.
Preferred
- Rope Access certification (IRATA or SPRAT).
- Experience with Digital and Real-Time Radiography technologies.
- Additional NDT certifications.
- Experience working turnaround and shutdown projects.
- Strong technical proficiency in RT and secondary NDT inspection methods.
- Knowledge of radiation safety regulations and industrial safety practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication abilities.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Ability to work in dynamic field environments and adapt to changing project requirements.
