Position Overview
The Middle School Teacher is responsible for delivering instruction to students in grades 6–8 in a specific subject area. This role involves planning and implementing lessons, assessing student progress, and creating a supportive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement engaging, grade-appropriate lesson plans in a specific subject area (e.g., Math, Science, Language Arts).
- Conduct regular formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress.
- Differentiated instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Maintain accurate student records for grades, attendance, and performance.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress.
- Create a positive, respectful, and safe learning environment.
- Participate in school committees, activities, and professional development opportunities.
- Collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum and instructional strategies.
- Uphold school policies and procedures.
- Any other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in the subject area or related field.
- Valid South Carolina teaching certification.
- Knowledge of middle school education best practices.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate effectively; sit, stand, walk, and use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
