Job Description Summary

The Lead Engineer, Blades Fleet Engineering, is responsible for the technical resolution of complex blade issues within the fleet. In this role, you will lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations, manage technical work streams, and serve as a key point of contact for cross-functional partners for GE Vernova’s Wind Energy business. You will utilize your deep understanding of blade design and reliability to drive permanent corrective actions, ensuring that our contracted fleet maintains the highest standards of safety, quality, and performance.

Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
  • Technical RCA Ownership: Lead and execute RCAs for technical blade issues, from initial problem identification to validation of corrective actions. Ensure robust documentation and technical accuracy.
  • Fleet Product Ownership: Own the fleet performance management for assigned Blade fleet. Identify early patterns/ trends on emerging issues and proactively problem solve
  • Data-Driven RCA Methodology: Utilize AI tools to process large-scale historical failure data, accelerating root cause identification and validating the efficacy of corrective actions through statistical modeling.
  • Automated Quality Reporting: Implement and maintain automated data visualization dashboards to monitor Blade fleet quality KPIs, ensuring real-time visibility into emerging trends for leadership and stakeholders.
  • Proactive Fleet Management: Collaborate with blade fleet performance teams to identify and address emerging technical issues before they impact fleet availability.
  • Action Plan Management: Develop and drive technical action plans for identified issues. Coordinate with internal partners (Systems, Design, Materials, Manufacturing, Services) to ensure milestones are met and risks are mitigated.
  • Containment & Resolution: Facilitate rapid containment for critical field issues, providing technical recommendations for disposition criterion and risk population assessments.
  • Cross-Functional Execution: Act as a technical bridge between design engineering and the fleet performance team. Translate field failure data into actionable design insights or process improvements.
  • Technical Communications: Drive/ Support technical documentation (RCA report, Whitepapers, TILs, SIs, and WDI instructions). Provide technical support in customer interactions as required Customer facing team.
  • Data & Quality Reporting: Manage RCA-related KPIs for assigned work streams. Ensure data completeness and use analytical tools to identify emerging trends before they escalated into major events.

Qualifications & Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, or similar Engineering degree).
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience working on composite materials for wind turbine, or aerospace industries doing design/product management, and/or quality/reliability/service engineering.
Eligibility Requirements
  • Travel: Ability to travel globally (mostly US) up to 15% of the time to support site visits or critical RCA resolution meetings.
  • Required work location is the GE Vernova offices in Greenville, SC

  • Advanced Degree: Master’s degree in Engineering is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a globally focused, matrixed organization.
  • Strong verbal and written English communication skills for global collaboration.
