Cardiac Rehabilitation - Berkeley Hospital - Summerville, SC
Shift: 7:00am-3:30pm
This position will begin July 2025.
Job SummaryTo provide high quality healthcare through the provision of medical nutrition therapy in a variety of settings to meet the needs of patients, their families and other healthcare professionals.
Minimum Qualifications- Education:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Completion of an ADA approved Dietetic Internship Program. - Experience:
None - Licensure/Certification:
Must be credentialed as a Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR). Recent graduates will be considered but must be Registered and Licensed.
Required primary source verification for positions in WIC.
Knowledge/Skills- Assess patients' nutritional needs and develop and implement plans and goals for nutritional care.
- Evaluate and assess the appropriateness and effectiveness of nutritional therapy.
- Provide education and/or consultation of patients, families and other healthcare professionals.
- Communicate with the healthcare team information that impacts patient care.
- Conduct diabetes self-management education according to best practices in individual and group settings.
- Coordinate care, collect diabetes data, and serve as a diabetes resource to the healthcare team.
- Follow oral and written instructions and procedures and communicate clearly.
- Responsible for professional growth and development.
- Function as a clinical resource for the interdisciplinary care team and utilize evidence-based practice to guide care provision.
- Mentor/precept dietetic interns as assigned.
- Participate in health fairs and other community activities that promote health, wellness, and Care Alliance Health Services.
- Serve as a resource for compliance with modified diets through direct and indirect interaction with the diet office.
Patients, families and/or significant others, hospital and medical staff, employees and visitors.
Work Demands/EnvironmentFrequent standing, walking and sitting. Intermittent stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling. Intermittent lifting, moving or carrying up to 25 lbs. Frequent pushing or pulling up to 25 lbs. Corrected hearing and vision to normal range. Possible exposure to wet floors, steam pipes, variable kitchen temperatures, toxic or caustic chemicals, infectious materials, communicable diseases, and other common healthcare conditions. Requires work under stressful conditions, deadlines, irregular hours, and may require travel.
