Police Officer
- Salary: $51,000 - $54,000 (Full Time - Depends on Experience/Qualifications)

The essential functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary.
- Supervises activities of inmates.
- Inspects the facility to ensure that they meet security and safety standards.
- Conducts searches of the facility for rule violations.
- Enters arrest information into automated system.
- Monitors cameras to ensure the safety of inmates, Officers/Sheriff and civilians.
- Answers phone calls from the public regarding inmates and Detention procedures.
- Assists with inmates with mental illnesses.
- Prepares and maintains a variety of documents and reports in the performance of the job such as the daily record log, booking reports, medication logs, incident reports, visitors logs, property forms, medical forms, transportation log, etc.
- Maintains records on whereabouts of inmates at all times.
- Performs related work as assigned.
MINIMUM
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
High School Graduation or GED equivalent.
Five (5) years of law enforcement or related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
SPECIAL CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES:
- Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving history.
- Must complete PR-24 certification, basic jail certification, CPR certification, and standard first aid certification.
