Senior Accountant

Description

Our client in Summit, NJ is seeking a Sr. Accountant for a 6 month contract, with the possibility for extension. This is a hybrid opportunity.

Senior Accountant Responsibilities:

+ Support month-end close including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis

+ Reconcile bank and credit card accounts; investigate and resolve discrepancies

+ Assist with financial statements, audit support, and coordination with external auditors

+ Ensure timely invoice processing and proper expense classification

+ Support system workflows and data integrity across accounting and operational platforms

+ Partner with internal teams and external advisors on tax, reporting, and compliance matters

+ Review indirect tax filings and assist with jurisdictional analysis

+ Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency and internal controls

+ Oversee work performed by remote/offshore accounting support

+ Contribute to ad hoc reporting and special projects

Requirements

Senior Accountant Requirements:

+ Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance; CPA preferred

+ 3-5 years of accounting experience

+ Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis)

+ ERP system experience preferred

+ Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills

+ Effective communication and cross-functional collaboration abilities

+ Detail-oriented with sound judgment and decision-making skills

+ Self-motivated with ability to manage priorities independently
