Overview
The Associate Director of Access & Reimbursement is responsible for leading the development and execution of US market access and reimbursement strategies to ensure optimal payer coverage and patient access across the CSL Seqirus portfolio. This role partners closely with commercial, marketing, medical and pricing teams to shape payer strategy across Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid, PBMs, and Federal accounts. The Associate Director provides strategic insights into the evolving reimbursement landscape across both the medical and drug benefit and contributes to long‑term pricing, contracting, and access strategies that support CSL Seqirus business objectives and the organization’s long‑term pricing goals.
MajorResponsibilities
- Leads CSL Seqirus interactions with all payers and fosters and develops multi‑level and senior relationships to create a foundation for communicating the CSL Seqirus story.
- Analyzes payer access and reimbursement (medical & drug) landscape for near‑term and longer‑term objectives, provides insights to create change, uses a pareto mentality to develop strategies and tactics, customizes approaches for each payer, and reports timely feedback regarding account interactions and next steps.
- Builds and maintains relationships with key individuals at various senior management levels to enable market access of CSL Seqirus vaccines and develops programs that address customer needs and enhance customer value perception.
- Convinces internal and external stakeholders about the value of the CSL Seqirus Customer Experience vision, acts as the voice of the customer within the organization, and develops and executes business solutions that strengthen CSL Seqirus partnership within primary channels.
- Provides subject‑matter expertise on reimbursement at the national and regional levels, ensures products have market access at all national and select regional health plans and PBMs, and has strategies to address coverage issues promptly.
- Identifies areas of opportunity for CSL Seqirus growth and steers the organization to implement them efficiently.
- Monitors external environment at key trade and customer meetings and conferences and coordinates customer and internal sales training as needed.
- Promotes the CSL Seqirus portfolio of products to key customers, driving differentiation and successful long‑term business relationships.
- Collaborates with marketing, medical affairs, and other business teams to ensure alignment and full utilization of resources at the account level, including marketing materials, in‑services, and agreements.
- Utilizes available resources to improve regional account management and works with Marketing teams to develop pull‑through plans and value‑added service offerings.
- Removes barriers that diminish growth in the Retail, Wholesale, GPO, and PBG segments.
- Works cross‑functionally to design, develop, and implement reimbursement strategies for all CSL Seqirus products.
- Oversees the Access & Reimbursement vendor strategy and budget to ensure effective deployment of external resources and delivery of programs that support payer access and reimbursement objectives.
- Monitors external environment, customers, and competitors to identify value for CSL Seqirus.
- Generates information and insights related to the reimbursement landscape and educates senior management on its implications.
- Directs senior leadership of key partnering departments to develop strategies that enhance growth related to access and reimbursement.
- Convinces payers of the value of CSL Seqirus products to obtain appropriate reimbursement.
- Drives actions with key internal departments (Medical, Marketing, Sales) to influence processes and programs that enhance the US business.
- Informs senior leadership and field sales on updates related to payer and reimbursement, providing SME insights and next‑step recommendations.
- Strengthens relationships with large payer customers to ensure expectations related to access and reimbursement are met or exceeded.
