Atlantic Health System is seeking a Psychiatrist/Associate Medical Director, Addiction Services for Overlook Medical Center in Summit, NJ. We are seeking a full‑time, double board‑certified/board‑eligible adult psychiatrist and addiction psychiatrist to serve as an enterprise‑wide expert in substance use disorders, and to develop and improve innovative and impactful services at all levels of care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide consultative services to the OMC ED, novel EmPATH program (observation level), 24‑bed voluntary inpatient psych unit, and hospital‑wide services focusing on diagnosis, withdrawal management, and medication for addiction treatment.
• Offer ongoing management for substance use disorders and co‑occurring psychiatric conditions in the outpatient division, including individuals referred from our ED, C/L service, IOPs, and inpatient units.
• Lead the co‑occurring IOP program, providing psychiatric leadership and collaborating closely with APNs to ensure integrated care.
• Lead educational initiatives on medications for opioid and other use disorders within the Department of Psychiatry and across medical disciplines; teach psychiatry residents on addiction electives from outside programs; develop best practices for withdrawal protocols; champion efforts to reduce stigma and bias; standardize co‑occurring disorders programming across IOP/APH/inpatient units.
• Lead the development of innovative care approaches for high‑risk populations, including LGBTQ+, obstetric patients, and individuals with chronic pain and co‑occurring addiction.

Salary Range: $300,000 – $360,000 base salary only; excludes any quality and/or productivity incentives.
