Responsibilities

Summit Oaks Hospital is a 126‑bed, private acute care hospital and chemical dependency treatment center located in a picturesque suburban setting, fully accredited by the Joint Commission. The hospital has provided quality health care to adult, child and adolescent residents of northeastern USA since 1902 and has been recognized in U.S. News & World Report as one of the nation’s best behavioral health hospitals.

The duties of a Psychiatrist are to provide psychiatric diagnostic and therapeutic care to patients with mental, emotional and behavioral disorders and substance use disorders. Assist in providing direction for inpatient and/or outpatient Psychiatric Units. The Psychiatrist shall provide senior back‑up coverage and weekend coverage as assigned by the Hospital’s Medical Director and/or Hospital’s CEO/Managing Director. The psychiatrist will attend 75% of physician meetings and 75% of Med Exec meetings.

Qualifications

Education: Graduate of an accredited medical school; completed residency in psychiatry, Board Certification required.

Experience: 5‑8 years of Experience. Experienced in inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care, well developed skills in integrating individual treatment approaches into treatment milieu and good working relationships with other attending physicians and staff.

Licensure: Valid and current license to practice medicine in the State of NJ; current narcotics numbers as issued by the State of NJ and US DEA.

Additional Requirements: Excellent communication/interpersonal skills.
