Oak Knoll seeks a compassionate, organized, and reliable Part‑Time Kindergarten Aide to join our Lower School team. The ideal candidate will be warm, energetic, and collaborative, and work closely with Kindergarten teachers to support the academic, social, and emotional growth of students in a positive and engaging classroom environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to play a vital role in shaping the learning experience for young children.
The Kindergarten Aide will support the two lead teachers in creating a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment. This individual will assist with lesson preparation, classroom management, and supervision — all while modeling kindness, patience, and enthusiasm for early childhood learning. This position is from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday‑Friday, and pays $26 per hour.
Key Responsibilities:- Support the lead teachers in preparing materials for and implementing daily lessons and activities
- Supervise and engage students in both academic and play‑based learning
- Assist with classroom routines, transitions, and behavior management
- Work with small groups or individual students to reinforce learning concepts
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and nurturing classroom space
- Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
- Participate in professional development and school events as needed
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred
- Previous experience working with young children in a school setting
- Passion for working with kindergarten‑aged children
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
