City Engineer
The City of Summit is seeking an experienced and collaborative professional to serve as City Engineer. This leadership position is responsible for planning, managing, and overseeing municipal engineering projects and providing technical guidance to City officials, boards, staff, and the community.
ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will oversee capital improvement projects including roads, drainage, utilities, sidewalks, traffic infrastructure, and related public works initiatives; supervise technical staff; review development applications; prepare budgets and project estimates; and coordinate with contractors, utilities, and government agencies.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- New Jersey Professional Engineer (PE) License
- Minimum five (5) years of progressively responsible supervisory engineering experience
- Strong knowledge of municipal engineering, land development regulations, public infrastructure, and capital project management
- Strong leadership, communication, customer service, and project management skills, along with a commitment to public service excellence
Salary range: $93,030 - $162,500.
