Responsible for producing cross‑section images of patients' internal organs and tissues for the diagnosis of medical issues. Interprets a physician's scanning instructions, administers contrast materials, prepares and operates the CT scan equipment, and positions the patient to capture the appropriate images.
Principal Accountabilities- Interprets CT protocols and correctly positions the patient for the exam.
- Operates CT scanner equipment in accordance with prescribed radiation standards (ALARA).
- Evaluates CT scans for technical quality.
- Utilizes EPIC, Radiant, and PACS to schedule and transmit images to the radiologist for interpretation.
- Prepares and administers contrast material using the power injector.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Accredited educational program related to the radiology field and registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
- Associate's degree in Applied Science in Diagnostic Radiology.
- Licensed by the State in Diagnostic Technology.
- CT Certification.
