Atlantic Health is seeking a Full-Time Environmental Services Manager for the Environmental Services (Housekeeping) Department at Overlook Medical Center. Required hours are 4:00PM - 12:00AM including weekends and holidays (shift may vary).
The Manager of Environmental Services is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of environmental services within the hospital. This includes ensuring a clean, safe, and healthy environment for patients, visitors, and staff. The role involves supervising a team, maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations, developing policies and procedures, managing departmental budgets, and driving continuous improvement in the cleanliness and sanitation of the hospital.
EssentialFunctions/Responsibilities
- Manage, lead, and develop the Environmental Services team, including supervisors and team members, to ensure high standards of cleanliness and efficiency.
- Manages the staff and activities of the environmental services (housekeeping) department in maintaining department objectives, policies, procedures, and standards.
- Hires, trains, and evaluates direct reports and ensures performance appraisals and feedback are effectively communicated to improve department productivity.
- Prepares, conducts, and organizes training programs, as necessary.
- Work closely with other hospital departments, including infection prevention, nursing, facilities, and administration, to address specific cleaning needs and ensure smooth operations.
- Manages staffing requirements to maintain adequate levels and prepares staff work schedules.
- Collaborates with Director in the review, development, and monitoring of department budgets including staffing, equipment, and supplies.
- Maintains environmental guideline manuals and reviews the details for regulatory accuracy.
- Monitors and ensures patient throughput by reducing turnaround times for discharge cleaning.
- Provides a clean and safe environment for patients, visitors, and team members at all times.
- Collaborate and participate in managing patient satisfaction scores. As appropriate, make recommendations on potential improvement plans to further enhance performance.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- HS Diploma/GED required.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- To provide a safe environment to our patients, we require that all candidates must be able to read, write and speak English.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Excellent customer service and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safe handling practices required.
- Must be able to bend/push/pull/lift 50
LBS. - Strong computer knowledge (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), customer service skills a must.
Experience:
- Knowledge of HCAHPS related to cleanliness is preferred.
- Leadership experience managing environmental services (housekeeping) in a healthcare environment preferred.
- Experience working in environmental services (housekeeping) or a relevant area of hospitality management preferred.
