Sterile Processing Technician - PT - Evenings - OMC

Job Description

Responsible for the sterilization and cleaning of medical equipment, instruments, and supplies. Cleaning/disinfecting contaminated supplies, delivering sterile supplies, maintaining inventory, and processing reusable medical devices for surgeries, examinations, and procedures. Tests and reports any issues or problems with the sterilization equipment.

The successful candidate is responsible for the cleaning, disinfection, decontamination, inspection, assembly, and sterilization of medical and surgical instruments; case cart assembly and distribution; care and distribution of patient care equipment; and maintaining the sterile processing areas. Must demonstrate proficiency and teamwork in all areas of the Sterile Processing Department. Follow instructions to ensure quality metrics and standards are met. Able to sit, stand, and walk for prolonged periods of time, and push, pull and lift heavy items.

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Completion of a Sterile Processing program.
• Certified Central Service Technician required.
• Prior experience preferred.
