Job Description
Atlantic Health Morristown Medical Center is seeking Per Diem Environmental Aides (Housekeeping) for the Environmental Services Department.
Required hours are 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM, Friday through Sunday. Starting rate $21.21/hr this position is eligible for the Atlantic Health System #teen hiring initiative (specific shifts).
Essential Function / Responsibilities- General cleaning: empty trash, high/low dusting, mop floors, sanitize all furniture in inpatient rooms, clean commode, clean bathrooms and discard debris, remove soiled linen and replace with fresh linen in patient rooms.
- Work at Union Campus.
- Position includes cleaning of bodily fluids.
- HS Diploma or GED/Equivalent required or will obtain within 1 year of employment.
- Must be able to read, write and speak English.
- Solid work history is a must.
- Must meet the fit testing requirement.
- Must be able to lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs.
- Must be 16 or older (prior to hire, must complete NJA
300 Combined Certification Form / Working Papers). - If 16 or 17 years old, valid working papers required.
- Prior experience in housekeeping in either a hospital or institutional setting, or a related field preferred.
- Prior floor-care experience preferred.
- 1‑2 years of customer service experience in healthcare, hospitality or relevant area preferred.

Atlantic Health System’s Environmental Service Department ensures the cleanest and safest health care environment for all team members, patients and visitors. Environmental Services is responsible for the cleaning and disinfection of common areas, outpatient areas, procedural areas, and patient rooms, including bathrooms, furniture, carpet/hard surface floors, vents, electronics and patient equipment. The team uses sanitizing processes of the highest quality required by multiple regulatory agencies.
Often referred to as “the first line of defense against infection,” the Environmental Service Department collaborates with the Atlantic Health System Infection Prevention and Quality Departments to ensure that there is consistent alignment at all sites.
