Overview
The Patient Care Technician (Day Shift) is responsible for assisting physicians and nursing staff in ensuring that each patient’s basic needs are met. This role provides hands-on care and clinical support in a fast-paced Neuro Acute Care environment, helping maintain patient comfort, safety, and quality of care during overnight hours.
Principal Accountabilities- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, feeding, and dressing
- Obtain and accurately record vital signs, weights, and heights
- Support patient mobility, including ambulation, transfers, discharges, and range-of-motion activities
- Perform post-mortem care in accordance with hospital protocols
- Conduct clinical tasks such as EKGs, phlebotomy, and blood glucose monitoring
- Observe patients and report changes in condition to the Registered Nurse
- Maintain phlebotomy equipment and inventory
- Perform other related duties as assigned
