Healthcare Nursing, Patient Care Technician
The Pain Management Center provides care to outpatients. The hours of operation for the Pain Management Center are Monday through Friday 7:30 AM until 4:00PM. The responsibility of the department is to ensure high quality nursing care to patients having Pain Management procedures according to American Society of Pain Management Nurses (ASPMN), American Heart Association, ASPAN, NJ State Department of Health, CDC, CMS, OSHA and TJC recommendations.
The department provides peripheral nerve blocks, nerve injections, nerve ablations, tenotomy and epidural procedures. The scope of care includes independently assessing patient needs, making collaborative decisions relative to all phases of care, pre-procedure, intraprocedural, and recovery while maintaining patient safety, monitoring, and high-quality patient care.
- 1. Maintains accurate, complete health care records and reports.
- 2. Administers medications to patients and monitors them for side effects and reactions.
- 3. Prescribes assistive medical devices and related treatments.
- 4. Monitors, reports, and records symptoms or changes in patient conditions.
- 5. Assesses, implements, plans, or evaluates patient nursing care plans by working with healthcare team members.
- 6. Records patient vital signs and medical information.
- 7. Performs other related duties as assigned.
