Overview
  • Responsible for leading and operationalizing teams that profitably deliver work within a portfolio of accounts.
  • Understands agency revenue and profitability model; ensures work is completed within budget; owns the revenue and forecast for the brand; determines and negotiates budget needs.
  • Keeps management informed of account status, problems, plans and meetings, including senior management as needed.
  • Has a thorough understanding of industry business trends.
  • Ensures tactical and strategic integrity and trains the account team in this regard.
  • Responsible for the development of ongoing business on their accounts and identifying new business development opportunities (organic growth).
  • Engages with senior level clients and continues an ongoing relationship development.
  • Identifies and proactively responds to needs that arise as well as lead longer term planning; possesses a good foundation of knowledge of the category to interpret market research data into brand ideas.
  • Trains, develops, and appropriately delegates to account team – encouraging growth and development of junior account management team.
  • Ensures appropriate resource allocation and utilization across all departments.
  • Manages tactical plan and SOW.
Client Partnership & Business Development
  • Responsible for client relationships at all levels, engaging with senior level clients, identifying new ways to strengthen relationships.
  • Monitors and evaluates the competitive landscape to provide senior level strategic insights.
  • Mines new, organic business opportunities with existing clients, building relationships across the client’s organization and key industry partners.
  • Establishes strategic partnership with clients, ensuring agency POV is shared and delivered effectively.
  • Identifies and solidifies client relationships beyond the day‑to‑day project owners.
  • Partners with clients to identify and strategize new project details and develop briefs.
  • Oversees regular client status meetings, communicating project development and maintaining alignment with client objectives.
  • Informs client on aspects and timing of project development, including internal agency process/requirements.
  • Oversees all agency communications with client stakeholders and extended team members to drive project execution (e.g., MLR team, medical/marketing reviewers, partner agencies, KOLs).
  • Participates in and leads new business pitches.
Internal Account Management
  • Team leader – provides clear and fair direction and feedback.
  • Assures right team members/departments are pulled into appropriate projects/work streams at the right time.
  • Engages in strategic development, establishing communication objectives and strategies to drive the brands forward.
  • Oversees brand strategy, ensuring it is pulled through into all work streams; owns and communicates to the extended internal team.
  • Networks and partners with other agency leaders within the Omnicom network, identifying ways to partner together.
  • Develops marketing strategy and tactical plans, including budgets and timelines.
  • Communicates project and brand updates to team promptly, including client shifts that may impact resource requirements.
