Position reports to Director 1, Contract Manufacturing.

What You Will DoSr. Manager External Manufacturing in the NA External Manufacturing team is responsible for achieving specific performance metrics in areas of site execution, cost, service, quality, and environmental health & safety while managing all aspects of manufacturing operations within the assigned external manufacturing sites (contract sites). The role oversees product supply, logistics and distribution, capacity/planning, capabilities assessment, inventory control, purchasing, quality services, negotiations, and engineering.
Key Responsibilities- Lead cross-functional teams to resolve product supply issues, driving results worldwide, regionally, and locally.
- Facilitate execution of legally binding supply and service level agreements.
- Ensure achievement of external manufacturing site goals such as OTIF-PA, cost improvement, Quality, EHS, and Compliance metrics.
- Develop manufacturing strategies to improve site performance, agility, and reliability of supply.
- Coordinate execution of life cycle management and new product launches at external manufacturing sites.
- Lead business-critical projects to improve performance of the EM network for selected KPIs.
- Ensure customer commitments for product availability.
- Resolve quality/GMP issues.
- Facilitate implementation of LEAN methodology and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support development and execution of business continuity plans, including identification of qualified sources of supply and manufacturing sites based on product requirements and marketing strategies.
- Develop supply market knowledge within key processing technologies to enable rapid benchmarking and accelerated selection of alternate manufacturing sites.
- Conduct ongoing analysis of total end-to-end supply chain costs, propose and manage implementation of cost improvements, and develop plans supporting implementation of directed pure buy or pure buy supply relationships.
- Develop and implement actions to reduce lead-times and optimize inventory.
- Conduct monthly capacity analysis with EM site and develop action plans to proactively mitigate risk.
- Coordinate efficient implementation of product/process changes at external manufacturing sites, instruct personnel on the Company’s vision and World Class manufacturing applications, coordinate EH&S assessments, and address deficiencies.
- Support implementation of network strategy decisions to consolidate, onboard, or expand sites.
- Facilitate root cause analysis, risk mitigation plans, and solution identification with internal and external business partners.
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years related experience in Supply Chain/Operations, Quality, External or Internal Manufacturing, Procurement, Supply Chain Sourcing, and/or Supply Planning.
- Experience working with Manufacturing Operations in a GMP environment.
- Entrepreneurial self-starter with strong oral and written communication skills, comfortable communicating across functional levels.
- Strong organizational, project management, and analytical skills.
- Training/experience with Lean Six Sigma/Process Improvement methodologies preferred.
- Prior experience establishing and monitoring KPIs and SLA for critical vendors preferred.
- Demonstrated effectiveness establishing and maintaining meaningful relationships with internal and external business partners.
- Demonstrated effectiveness leading and influencing cross-functional project teams.
- Prior knowledge of advanced planning systems such as ERP, MRP, and/or SAP preferred.
- Ability to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally.
