Locum Neuro-Critical Care Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant – Northern New Jersey / Neuro ICU – Stroke & Neurosurgery

Brand-new neuroscience “super-unit.” Our client’s expanding Neuro-Critical Care team offers the chance to manage complex stroke and neurosurgical patients in a highly collaborative, academically driven environment.

• Start:
  Mid-May |
  Duration: 3–6 months
• Schedule:
  15 shifts/month (more in August) |
  7a–7p or 7p–7a | Weekends required
• Brand-new 11-bed Neuro-Critical Care Unit (currently ~70% capacity)
• Average 8 patients/day; ~2 admissions per 12-hour shift
• Manage ICH, SAH, ischemic stroke, status epilepticus, brain/spine tumors, aneurysms
• Autonomous practice with daily intensivist rounds
• Perform advanced bedside procedures including central/arterial lines & ICP monitoring
• Work alongside neurocritical care intensivists, neurosurgeons, pharmacists & educators
• Certified Comprehensive Stroke Center with state-of-the-art neurosurgical suites
• Participate in education, policy development & stroke program certification initiatives

• Be able to do the job as described.
• ACNP or PA-C with an active New Jersey Nurse Practitioner license
• Local candidates, please
• AHA BLS certification
• Proven neuro-critical care experience with independent line placement
• Skilled in EVDs, ICP monitoring, ventilator management & tPA protocols
• Comfortable managing high-acuity stroke and post-op neurosurgical patients autonomously
