Job Description

Responsible for assisting with the professional role development of members of the Nursing Department as well as the implementation of programs to improve the quality of care delivered.

• Ensures all on-the-job training is consistent with guidelines established
• Ensures that site trainers/preceptors have the knowledge, tools, and attitude to effectively train staff
• Acts as both a formal and informal consultant, assisting with the integration of new learning into nursing practice and serving as a resource by assisting nurses in identifying problems, available internal and external educational resources, and selecting educational options
• Works with the Operations team to identify changes that should be made in nursing practice and to facilitate the initiation, adoption, and adaptation to change; strives for excellence in patient care by self‑monitoring and, as necessary, ensuring the safety and well‑being of the patient; identifies existing and potential problems and takes effective actions
• Develops and maintains an awareness of needed improvements in patient care, procedures, equipment and supplies and makes recommendations
• Other relevant duties as assigned

• BSN required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required
• Specialty certification required
• Minimum of 3 years of Acute Care experience in a hospital setting as a Registered Nurse
• Valid New Jersey Nursing License

• Master's Degree preferred
• Strong interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written
• Patient‑compassionate nature
• Ability to operate as part of a team, alongside physicians and nurses
• Proficiency in computer‑based data management programs and information systems
