Position: Registered Nurse, FT, Days - AMG Urology

JOB DESCRIPTION

Registered Nurse, Ambulatory, uses the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. Manages patient teaching, communication, triage, and documentation in Epic. Ensures patient safety, privacy, and timely response to clinical needs. Collaborates with the care team, supports quality improvement, promotes evidence-based practice, and upholds PRIDE values and organizational goals.

  • Address the problem, plan, implement, and evaluate care through the health care continuum.
  • Consistently demonstrates competent clinical skills. Coordinates and completes patient assessment and re-assessment to positively impact quality outcomes.
  • Assesses barriers to learning and functional status of patient.
  • Coordinates, evaluates, and completes patient/family teaching.
  • Consistently responds to patients/families in a courteous, positive, and timely manner. Respects the patient’s right to privacy and dignity and confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines. Fosters a positive environment that promotes PRIDE values. Promotes better patient outcomes by reviewing open gaps of care and coordinating closure.
  • Interacts directly with patients and team members, documents in Epic, and facilitates interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Manages in basket, assists with pharmacy contact, medication ordering and renewal. Reviews and disseminates labs based on acuity. Responds to patient messages in collaboration with clinician(s).
  • Recognizes emergency situations and acts appropriately. Clarifies physician orders as indicated. Maintains a safe environment for team members and patients/visitors: physical, psychological, and environmental. Utilizes HRO safety principles.
  • Reports all injuries using the event reporting system.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of medication and vaccine administration per policy, carries out physician orders accurately and timely. Monitors medication effects and reports adverse effects promptly.
  • Knows policies and procedures, including emergency equipment and procedures. Identifies and reports all risk management issues promptly. Manages phone: triages calls, determines acuity, schedules appointments, documents communications, and maintains confidentiality.
  • Participates in regular practice huddles, communicates with team members and physicians, listens actively, seeks feedback, solves problems, resolves conflicts, mentors team members, and provides support. Uses standard precautions and isolation techniques. Follows Ambulatory Health Care National Patient Safety Goals.
  • Collaborates with all members of the health care team per Shared Governance to promote evidence-based care within a healing culture for patients and families.
  • Documents with good accuracy, reports changes in patient condition immediately, collects required documentation, verifies order entry, maintains competency in information systems, and communicates effectively.
  • Pursues formal learning activities to enhance knowledge, clinical competency, and professional development. Monitors quality dashboards for assigned clinicians/practice.
  • Performs other duties as needed within scope of RN license.
  • Supports overall strategic goals of clinical practice care area, AMG, AHS hospital sites, Atlantic Visiting Nurse, and the system.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Valid RN licensure in NJ.
  • BLS required.

Preferred:

  • At least 2 years’ clinical practice, ambulatory practice in urology or urogyn preferred.
  • Knowledge and command of electronic medical record systems. EPIC Ambulatory preferred.
  • Effective communication skills: listens well, speaks and writes clearly and concisely.
  • Competent in managing day‑to‑day operations in a clinical practice.
  • Model behaviors in accordance with AMG/AHS mission, vision, and PRIDE values.
  • Demonstrates and facilitates inter‑professional, cross‑departmental, and cross‑system collaboration.
  • Travel to other practice locations as required by practice operations.
