Patient Care Technician - Per Diem, Shift, Med​/Renal​/Pulmonary CD, Atlantic Health

Job Description

Responsible for assisting doctors and nursing staff in ensuring that the basic needs of each patient are met. Daily tasks may include feeding and cleaning the patient or monitoring vital signs and health.

• Assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing, feeding, dressing
• Obtain and record vital signs, weights, and heights
• Assist patients with mobility: ambulation, transfer, discharges and ROM activities
• Perform post‑mortem care
• Perform EKGs, phlebotomy and blood glucose monitoring
• Observe and report changes in patients’ condition to the RN
• Maintain phlebotomy equipment and inventory
• Other related duties as assigned

• Required:
  
  HS Diploma or equivalent
• Preferred:
  Strong interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written
• Preferred:
  Patient, compassionate nature
• Preferred:
  Ability to operate as part of a team, alongside physicians and nurses
• Preferred:
  Proficiency in computer‑based data management programs and information systems
