Night Shift 12 hours/day 3 days/week
WCS Healthcare Partners is seeking an experienced and dedicated Registered Nurse for a travel assignment in the Intensive Care Unit. This position requires a compassionate and skilled professional who can provide high-quality care to patients in a high acuity setting. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, a commitment to patient safety, and the ability to work collaboratively with the healthcare team.
Responsibilities- Assessment
Skills:- Possess competent knowledge of all the normal stages of growth and development from Pediatric to Geriatric and deliver patient care appropriately.
- Perform thorough assessments that are systematic, comprehensive, and accurate.
- Clinical
Skills:- Consistently demonstrate competent clinical skills.
- Perform direct patient care activities in support of patient care delivery and team concept.
- Provide competent and appropriate nursing care to the population of the unit.
- Demonstrate knowledge and skill of emergency equipment and procedures.
- Documentation:
- Maintain complete and accurate documentation.
- Demonstrate knowledge of documentation guidelines.
- Assume primary responsibility for documenting components of the nursing process and patient's progress toward meeting outcomes in the patient's chart, including patient education.
- Professionalism:
- Demonstrate professional practice responsibility.
- Demonstrate knowledge of policies and procedures and identify areas for clinical and professional growth.
- Consistently respond to patients, families, and co-workers in a professional, courteous, and positive manner.
- Promote an environment where the patient and family is at the center and the patient care team works cooperatively toward their goals and objectives.
- Maintain confidentiality according to HIPAA guidelines.
- Safety:
- Consistently follow the National Patient Safety Goals including following Universal Protocol and identifying patients utilizing 2 patient identifiers.
- Demonstrate use of safe transfer techniques and proper body mechanics for self and patients.
- Unit Specific Job Function:
- Demonstrate knowledge of the conditions/diagnoses, procedures, and equipment encountered for surgical patients.
- Individualize patient care according to the procedure and type of anesthesia across the continuum of care.
- Assess patient reaction and understanding of procedure/instructions.
- Responsibility and Accountability:
- Contribute to the perioperative team by assuming responsibility and accountability for directing patient care.
- Prioritize the care of patients depending on their needs and any changes in their condition.
- Patient Education and Chart Completion:
- Assess patient's understanding of surgical procedure/instructions.
- Actively include the patient and family members in teaching.
- Perform pre-operative and postoperative assessment and education.
- Duties Specific to PAT RN:
- Support the completion of patient testing in a timely manner.
- Evaluate Pre-Admission Testing (PAT) orders for appropriateness and for potential omissions based on proposed surgery, patient age, and current state of health.

Qualifications:- Minimum 1 year of ICU experience –
Required - Must have ICU experience (High Acuity SDU)
- RN License –

- Education:
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree –
