American Traveler is hiring an RN
- Med/Surg for a hospital position requiring an active NJ or compact RN license and EPIC charting experience.

• Nursing Resource unit within a hospital setting
• Surgical patient population including pre-admission testing, pre-operative, and post-operative care
• 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week, 36 hours weekly
• Floating to a sister hospital nearby may be required as needed
• No on-call responsibilities
• Uses EPIC charting system

• Active NJ or compact RN license required
• Current BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
• EPIC charting experience preferred
• Experience with surgical patient care, pre-admission testing, and pre/post-operative assessments

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments across all age groups from pediatric to geriatric
• Deliver competent clinical care including knowledge of emergency equipment and procedures
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation of nursing care and patient progress
• Follow National Patient Safety Goals including use of two patient identifiers and safe transfer techniques
• Provide patient and family education regarding surgical procedures and instructions
• Evaluate pre-admission testing orders for appropriateness based on procedure, age, and health status
• Prioritize patient care based on individual needs and condition changes
• Local candidates accepted
• Travelers may remain on assignment up to one calendar year from initial start date before requiring a break
