Nuclear Medicine Technologist, Per Diem, OMC

JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsible for preparing and rendering radiopharmaceuticals in diagnostic and therapeutic studies, utilizing a variety of equipment while following prescribed procedures.

• Mixes stock solutions of radiopharmaceutical materials, calculates doses, and administers doses under the direction of a physician.
• Calibrates equipment.
• Performs diagnostic studies on patients as prescribed by a physician, using scanners or scintillation cameras to detect radiation emitted and to produce an image of the organ on photographic film.
• Measures radioactivity, using Geiger counters, scalers, and scintillation detectors.
• Administers therapeutic doses of radiopharmaceuticals under the direction of a physician.
• Follows radiation safety techniques in use and disposal of radioactive materials.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required:

• HS Diploma or equivalent experience.
• Current license with the NJDEP in nuclear medicine.
• Registration or certification by ARRT, NMTCB, or CAMRT.

Relevant

Experience:

• 1+ years preferred.
• Employment history of working in an office-based setting is preferred.
