Job SummaryAs an Operations Technician, you’ll perform a variety of tasks, including reading and interpreting drawings, supporting pipeline operations, safely maintaining facility equipment and analyzing data to resolve technical and operational problems. Knowledge of permits and compliance, accurate record‑keeping and a focus on safety will bring success in this role.
Responsibilities- Perform various tasks to safely maintain equipment and support pipeline operations, including reading/interpreting drawings, inspecting/supervising equipment and maintaining operation/technical standards and/or governmental requirements.
- Analyze data and collaborate with others to find solutions to technical or operational problems.
- Follow all company policies and apply appropriate operating and maintenance procedures.
- Acquire knowledge of and adhere to requirements for safe and efficient operation of facilities, execution of tasks, protection of community, personnel, environment, and assets.
- Maintain general knowledge of site/location/equipment/specific permits and compliance.
- Complete assigned reports, logs and maintain accurate records of process operations and performance of preventative maintenance on equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma/GED required.
- Minimum two (2) years of related experience (substituted for the required 3 years of experience for a Technician III). Preferred:
Associates or two‑year technical degree. - Minimum of one (1) year experience as a technician in the oil and gas industry required.
- Experience in operations technician roles across Technical, Mechanical, or Controls Systems within the oil and gas industry.
- Knowledge of process control systems and programmable logic controllers.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and PC skills.
- Work in extreme temperatures, with loud noises, and in enclosed spaces.
- Carry or lift items up to 50 lbs and team lift loads of more than 50 lbs as needed.
- Stand, walk, climb, bend, stoop, and squat, often for long periods of time.
- Work at elevated levels, potentially from man lifts, ladders, scaffolding, or small towers, with appropriate PPE.
- Use hand tools.
- Available to work after hours, on‑call rotations, nights, weekends, and holidays as the need arises.
- May be required to work overtime and 10‑12 hour shifts.
- Travel between Williams locations with occasional overnight stays.
