Branch Manager – Book Fair Operations

Lead a local branch team to plan, schedule, and execute day‑to‑day warehouse and distribution center activities for Scholastic Reading Events. The role ensures operational efficiency, financial performance, and adherence to company policies while supporting Scholastic’s mission of encouraging lifelong learning through book fairs.

• Plan and prepare the annual budget in partnership with the Area Operations Manager; achieve financial results and manage operating costs.
• Execute operational efficiency improvements, capacity planning, and productivity metrics for packing, setup, delivery, and pickup of book fairs.
• Oversee production management and inventory controls, including annual and semi‑annual warehouse sales to reduce inventory and maximize revenue.
• Conduct monthly safety meetings and ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety policies.
• Recruit, hire, train, evaluate, and develop drivers, warehouse personnel, and supervisory staff; manage discipline and personnel documentation.
• Collaborate with Sales and Operations teams to enhance overall business performance and maintain superior customer service.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and productive work environment; investigate and document work‑related injuries.

• BA/BS in Management, Business, Transportation, Operations, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of proven front‑line management experience in manufacturing or distribution.
• Demonstrated capability to manage high‑quality, efficient, and cost‑effective operations.
• Experience in facilities management, inventory management, or inventory control preferred.
