Job Title: CNC Machinist
Job Description

Join our dynamic team as a CNC Machinist operating machines with Master Cam software, specifically 3 & 4 axis Mills. With a focus on sheet metal machining, you will be part of a company experiencing significant growth through diverse commercial and defense contracts.

Responsibilities
  • Operate 3, 4 axis vertical and horizontal CNC Mills.

  • Read blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and interpret GD&T.

  • Use micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and height gauges.

  • Perform basic math, geometry, and trigonometry.

  • Set up machines by installing pallets, vises, tombstones, and fixtures.

  • Follow verbal machine operation instructions from department lead.

  • Assess drawings & manufacturing planning for machining requirements.

  • Carefully load parts into machines, operate machine’s control panel, unload parts, deburr parts, and arrange parts in boxes or on pallets.

  • Monitor features & dimensions on each component run.

  • Support supervisors in the running of production parts, proving programs, operating controls, setting offsets, deburring, and inspection of quality parts.

  • Study and interpret drawings, manuals, specifications, tool setups, or sample parts.

  • Measure and mark dimensions and reference points on material or work pieces.

  • Detect equipment malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust machine as required.

  • Report all machine malfunctions to Lead.

  • Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly.

  • Perform basic preventative maintenance functions on equipment.

  • Adhere to and comply with state and federal law, the Company Quality Program and procedures, Company policies, and Safety and Environmental Regulations.

Essential Skills
  • Experience with CNC machining, blueprint reading, and mill operations.

  • Proficiency in using calipers, micrometers, and setting up machines.

  • Ability to operate 3 and 4 axis CNC Mills.

  • Capability to interpret GD&T and engineering drawings.

  • Strong mathematical skills including geometry and trigonometry.

Additional

Skills & Qualifications
  • Familiarity with Haas and Fanuc programming.

  • Experience in sheet metal machining.

  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and work independently.

Work Environment

This position operates in a manufacturing plant and professional office environment. You will be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibrations. Conditions may include excessive heat, cold, wetness, bright light, and slippery surfaces. Ear protection is provided as the noise level can be very loud. The work schedule includes a day shift from 4 AM to 2:30 PM or a swing shift from 1:30 PM to 11:30 PM, Monday to Thursday, following a 4/10 schedule.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 – $35.00/hr.
