Position: Document Control Specialist (Aerospace Manufacturing)

With its rich 60-year history and new long-term contracts, Pressco is looking for a few key individuals who want to be a part of its continued growth and stability. We are seeking a detail-oriented, experienced, and eager Document Control Specialist who is ready to use their expertise and experience to build and refine our processes and efficiencies.

Role Description

The document control position is a full-time, on-site role based in Sumner, WA. The individual in this position will be responsible for managing technical data, engineering drawings, and quality records, ensuring compliance with standards like AS9100. Maintaining document accuracy, version control, and distribution, and preventing the use of obsolete information in manufacturing. Key tasks include using ERP systems, managing Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), and supporting the release of work orders.

Processing change requests, checking for formatting errors, and ensuring signatures are present. Executing daily tasks under the supervision of the Quality Manager. The ideal candidate will be very detail-oriented, have a strong background in aerospace manufacturing, and change management.

Job Duties and Essential Functions
  • Review and route new documents or updates through the proper channels, ensuring only the latest approved documents are being used in production
  • Maintain accurate version control, revision history, and document status, including customer specs, drawings, work orders (frozen plans), etc.
  • Respond to document-related inquiries and resolve discrepancies
  • Update or route any changes in the ERP system and distribute to production
  • Prepare and release work orders, parts/tools list, drawings, etc., reviewing for accuracy, and distributing to the appropriate department
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, production, quality, and supply chain) to support process development and problem-solving.
  • Digitally scan/optimize, organize, and file work orders, purchase orders, and material certificates into the appropriate digital and physical files. Safeguarding sensitive data to comply with international regulations such as ITAR.
  • Maintain physical and digital filing systems and cabinets, including archiving
  • Maintain customer-provided PCM’s (photo contact masters/Mylar’s)
  • Work with the quality management team on internal KPI’s, survey’s and trending per AS9100 requirements
Job Requirements
  • High attention to detail
  • High-level experience with Microsoft Excel
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with Windows 11, Microsoft Office suite, Adobe Pro, and general office products
  • Familiarity with computer-based MRP data entry – Infor Visual Manufacturing is a plus, but we will train
  • Basic blueprint reading and basic math skills
  • Ability to read, understand, follow, and interpret planning and work order instructions
  • Ability to professionally communicate and work cooperatively with others
  • High School Diploma. Preferred higher education with industry-specific training (formal or on-the-job training)
  • Excellent attendance and time management
  • Standing, sitting, and bending for extended periods in a machine shop and office environment

Compensation is dependent on experience and is evaluated regularly based on merit and performance. Wage range is $24.00 - $28.00 per hour, depending on experience. Upon completion of the probationary period, benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, Hearing, Long-Term Disability, 401(k), and voluntary supplemental insurance options.
