Position
The Oven Operator Lead runs the oven used for the curing process of composite manufacturing, according to Standard Work Instructions. Team leaders serve as mentors and trainers for their work area. With this dual role, the job description(s) of the jobs in the area also apply to the Team Lead. This is a hands-on position that requires technical knowledge and the ability to complete goals in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Oven Operator Lead will:
- Verify part and documents, interpret the job traveler to determine recipe to complete cure process before loading parts onto the racks, trays, or carts.
- Meet schedules, time allowances and monitor oven cures frequently to ensure no discrepancies in software program; updating supervisor.
- Decipher parts and quantity requiring additional probes, wires, fixtures, or thermocouple placement before oven cure process.
- Remove probes, wires, fixtures, breakout, and clean all parts prior to distributing to the next process.
- Strong technical knowledge related to the field of manufacturing and the area/department assigned to.
- Communicate in a clear, approachable, professional and pro-active manner, Provide strong leadership, management, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining perspective.
- Be creative, flexible and able to drive/guide change.
- Ability to multi-task, follow through and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Capability to develop and coach individuals to higher performance.
- Provide strong operations thinking that moves the vision to successful implementation.

- Advanced math skills.
- Ability to comprehend written instructions.
- Possess analytical and problem-solving skills.
- One year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Composite manufacturing experience preferred.
- Experience in aerospace industry preferred.
High School Diploma or GED preferred.
