Smart Hire is looking for a CNC Machinists for a client in Sumner WA. Ideal candidate will have experience with horizontal 4th and 5th axis CNC + complex set-ups.

CNC Machinist (Mill / Lathe)

Location: Sumner, WA

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour. DOE ~ SIGNING BONUS AVAILABLE!

We are seeking experienced CNC Machinists to join our manufacturing team. These role will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC mill and lathe machines to produce high-precision parts while maintaining quality, efficiency, and safety standards. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced machining environment and take pride in producing high-quality components, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC Mill and CNC Lathe machines (3-axis, 4-axis, and 5-axis where applicable).

• Perform machine setups, adjustments, and tool changes.

• Machine parts to required specifications with high accuracy and efficiency.

• Monitor production runs to ensure consistent quality and output.

• Conduct in-process inspections using precision measuring tools.

• Collaborate with programming, tooling, and production teams to improve processes.

• Assist with fixturing and tooling preparation for work orders.

• Maintain accurate setup sheets and production documentation.

• Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of CNC machining experience in a manufacturing or machine shop environment.

• Experience with CNC mill and/or CNC lathe setup and operation.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

• Experience with precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges).

• Basic CNC programming knowledge (Master

CAM or similar) is a plus.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

• Good communication and teamwork skills.

• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.

Work Environment

• Manufacturing / machine shop setting.

• Standing or sitting for extended periods may be required.
